Recently I have seen a trend of bloggers reintroducing themselves to their readers and subscribers. So I am jumping on the trend & sharing some random interesting facts!!
In an effort to be even more relatable than I feel I already am, I would love to share some misc odd ball things about me. Do I personally think I am interesting?? Well, no but I have lived my life and most things that people think are interesting, are just my life! Lol. So, lets see what kind of random things I can come up with!
- I grew up in a town with a population of only 50! Yep you read that right and I even blogged in my series “Who does she think she is” about it. It was nice having a small community that feels like family but at the same time, family can be brutal and cutthroat at times. (and holy cow the gossip!! LOL)
- I live in Wyoming. I say this is interesting because people who don’t live here find it interesting. Yes, Wyoming is a real place! No, we do not ride horses everywhere, we drive just like all the other states. Also, we may be known for Yellowstone, The Tetons, and Devils Tower but many of us don’t believe the true experience of Wyoming can be found in any of those places.
- I LOVE unicorns! Like big time, it’s an obsession that was given to me by me daddy when I was 8 yrs old with a ceramic unicorn candle holder from a garage sale he went to. When he gave it to me he told me that Unicorns were very rare and and so was I. At 8 yrs old I believed I WAS a unicorn at that moment and never really let that belief go. My friends keep my addiction alive and well and my dear husband sleeps surrounded by unicorn stuffies! Haha
- I am a coffee addict with intentions to moving to cacao. It has been a long standing “rule” of sorts to not speak to me until I have had my coffee and meditation. This seems like such a dictator type rule and not very “zen” in the grand scheme of things. I have finally found a cacao that I love and hope to cut down the coffee and reach for a healthier choice…my family is concerned for their safety tho! Lol
- I am Pescatarian…Kinda. So I say “kinda” because recently I learned that my digestive system is handling chicken ok, again. I had 6 inches of my lower sigmoid colon removed along with a tumor in 2018. There are some things my system just doesn’t break down and meat is one of them. (along with most raw veggies) I’m small, like at the moment due to stress I weigh 91 pounds but usually float around 100 pounds. Needing protien, I found that seafood didn’t hurt me or send me to the ER with pain. This being said, if we ever hang out in person or you cook for me DO NOT make special adjustments for me! I can have most stuff in moderation but always have work arounds in my mind. No need to go extra for me!!
- I have an ancestor who was a witch! By 1500’s mentality anyway… By todays standards she would be a herbalist or homeopathic but something as simple as making your own herbal tea blends and using them for medicinal home remedies could get you in deep trouble. If you have an odd pet, such as a ferret, you were pretty much sentenced right there. Thats exactly what happened in Chelmsford England to my ancestor, Joan Prentise.
- I am a modern witch…because I can be!! Lol Now going off of #6, my mom taught me many thing about nature and its healing methods. In this way I am exactly like Joan and nobody usually bats an eye these days when you talk about herbal remedies. Where I break from that is I also read Tarot & Oracle Cards for myself and as a service with my business, I am Claircognizant. Meaning at times things pop into my head about someone I am near and it doesn’t feel like my own thoughts. It feels like mail I am suppose to deliver. I am also an empath am frustrate my husband with this gift everyone wants to or claims they have. Believe me, if there were one thing I would change it would be this. Feeling all the things of those around is hard and blocking yourself from them is work.
- My 23 yr old son is one of my best friends. Pretty much since the day he was born, he was my homie. We did everything together, I volunteered at his school until they forced me to get on the payroll, we have a unique way of just knowing what the other is thinking, we have the same morbid sense of humor, have depended on each other through drama when I was with my ex, and we just get each other. We for sure do not have a typical mom/son relationship and it works for us. (Yes I pull the mom card when needed and yes I get push back like kids do…it just doesn’t happen as often as it prob should. Haha)
- I found my soul mate at 39 yrs old. He wasn’t my first love but he was the one I was born to love. He was unexpected, pushy, loud, charming, handsome, and had a great smile with tender eyes. I wasn’t looking to have another man in my life after having just left my 20 yr marriage but sometimes the best things happen when your not looking for them. 6 years later we are married, traveled all over the country, laugh so hard with each other that it should be illegal, unpack each others emotional baggage and support as we work through it, and fall more in love each moment we are together…which is most of the time because we favor each other over friends! Haha (Sorry ladies, my husband is my favorite person)
- I love rap music! People find this interesting, especially my husband, due to the content of many of my favorite songs. I am all about expression and speaking the truth of your story. The artists I listen to for sure have some lyrics that could make you cringe but also have songs that speak to the negativity of that life and their gratitude for being away from it. I have a passion to make some yoga flows to certain songs due to the feeling I know they invoke in the 20 something crowd. This isn’t a new concept and it is done in many places. Unfortunately my fav artists has passed on due to violence or mental health struggles but I will continue to support their passion by listening to their words. On that note I am a HUGE supporter of the Live Free 999 Foundation set up by Juice Wrld’s family and friends. Please go check out how you can help support mental health for that generation!!
So there you have it! 10 Random things about me that you may or may not have known! I have a huge desire to help others in this space, but also want you to get to know all the parts of this gal you have floating into your inbox or lighting up your notifications. Obviously asking you to give me 10 things in the comments would be a bit much, although be my guest if you want to!! It would be great if you would like to share 1 random interesting fact about yourself tho! I love the quirky things that make up who we are and love seeing what others find interesting about themselves! So in short, I showed you mine, now you show me yours!! Lol
