Beginning again…

Well hello! I bet you forgot that you subscribed to this little blog called Mystikal Musings! Let’s catch up!

I could lie and say I looked to see when the last time I posted a blog, but I’m not one to lie and it really matters not. IT HAS BEEN A LONG MINUTE! Many factors play into this. I believe the last post I did write was about not paying small business people and individual service providers their worth. Monetary exchanges of energy for those of us who are trying to make money online ARE big motivators to keep plugging. The thing is, I never actually expected to make money here on WordPress. My whole point of being HERE was to shorten my business posts on Mystikal Rootz on FB & IG. Then I went full on Astrology in those spaces, decreased the written content surrounding the New & Full Moons as well as the monthly energies, and created a paid email Subscription for those longer and entailed energy explanations. Putting those forecasts here behind a paywall or putting my daily posts here for free feels repetitive and unaligned so this blog kinda went to the side. So here I am, beginning again, and am just dropping my musings in an imperfect way! But first, let’s catch up.

We are still living Full Time RV Life in Northern Arizona. If I have my way, I will never be in a sticks and bricks conventional house ever again. I LOVE our little home and the fact we can choose to move anytime with very little hassle! We are no longer off grid and have shifted into a park which was a big adjustment. No more generator noise, no more being prevented to leave or come home due to muddy roads, things we had not been able to plug in we finally could, infinite water, less wear on my husbands truck, and no more worries on if he can get home safe. (I can see his work from where I sit!) We also spend more now because it’s an option to “run real quick” but it isn’t a lot more. Plus a homemade breakfast burrito supports the nice family here trying to grow a business. WE SUPPORT!

Sunrise in the RV Park

During the day I work on social media content and Natal Astrology Chart Reports when I get a new client. I tidy our home, learn all the tricks to things I didn’t do off grid, and watch the happenings around the best RV Park in Northern Arizona. Truly tho! Spaces with lots of room between rigs, AMAZING staff, constant improvements to give a welcoming feel, so freaking cheap, extremely safe, very quiet, and everyone you meet is so nice! We are actually in our 2nd year here (We moved into town in November of 2023) so this IS the vibe and I don’t see that changing. I haven’t ventured out and attempted to make connections in town. I feel very supported by my friends I have already and although we are connected virtually, it’s very real and very authentic. I’m not sure I have to energy to build with a new friend but at the same time, I am not opposed if that is what the Universe pushed me into. My best friend and her hubby moved into town as well so I can have physical friends in front of me, I just never leave my little home! Lol

My husband has gone back to doing what he did in Wyoming and is also still building his photography business. He has expanded to school sports photos and portraits and has begun a YouTube Channel as well. He began the most amazing weight loss and fitness journey and has corrected many health issues by changing his food and moving his body more. He then gained a Summer job that gave him the most amazing gift of knowledge and really truly the beginning of us TRULY EXPERIENCING our new state. It’s a shit job to be real. No seriously, the job is taking portable bathrooms to campsites and areas off the beaten path, then servicing said bathrooms. So ya, it’s a shit job!! BUT, we quickly gained knowledge of the places and space we enjoy being in! Forests, mountain lakes and streams, campsites to pitch our tent and sleep outside, mountain towns, and forest service roads!! We had been unable to fully explore when off grid because of gas prices, propane prices, and the time it even took to get to the highway. Now we knew how the road systems worked, we knew landmarks in the mountains, and we reinstalled our OnX app and were off!!

Nothing like a dirt road!

Last Spring (2024) began our new adventures and in turn, grew a new love for my husband I only dreamed he would take interest in…HIKING!! My love for hiking runs deep. (See my post about my trip into the Cloud Peak Wilderness when we lived in Wyoming!) I had kinda assumed long hikes and maybe hikes in general were a thing of the past when we moved due to my husband having no interest in being on his feet for miles. But when you drop weight and make movement a part of your daily, you find your feet can go further! Plus, and this is a BIG plus, those REALLY good images for a photographer are numerous off the beaten path. There is a lot to see off the highways and roads but getting on a trail pretty much was the end of my husband’s “roadside photography”. All Summer we hiked trails in The White Mountains. Trails that went through burn areas, trails that had “never ending ups”, trails by creeks and rivers and even some trails that were aren’t sure are actual trails! We camped in our tent and I am not sure there isn’t one dirt road we haven’t at least been on a portion of.

When Summer drew to an end we shifted to the magical area of Sedona. Magical for all the reasons everyone in the world has heard of Sedona but also, this is where my mom spent time in the early 1970’s when Sedona was a hippie town of people who had no desire to be a part of society norms and the vortexes beg you to have spiritual experiences. This is where my mom came into her own. The first trip was one I will never forget and was actually on moms birthday in May. We visited a little stupa and just slinked around the pretty trails in that small area. When we returned in the Fall, we were ready for some REAL hiking! That proved interesting at first due to the popularity of Sedona, but we figured out the shuttle and the places to get the famous Instagram shots for hubby. We then purchased my car needing a second vehicle with better gas milage and all bets were off. Every weekend we were in Sedona. We became, and still are, the people who drive 2 1/2 hours to “take a walk”! Lol Not sure I can say that an 8 mile hike is a walk tho! (It was an accident but we still get to claim it because we did in fact go 8 miles) Sedona has our hearts for winter hiking and we will never get through all those trails.

We do these things on a strict budget. I say “strict” because to some it would feel like they are lacking. We on the other hand are so minimal and flexible that we aren’t shorting ourselves on anything. I find discounted snacks on my Safeway grocery app and also earn points on there for working out so we get FREE cases of water. Our supplies for the day may cost $20 and that includes food afterwards at the Safeway Deli for dinner. To go to Sedona and back, leaving at 7 am and returning home around 9 pm, we spend less than a dinner and movie would cost us. That’s an ENTIRE DAY of time, connection, memories, achievements, laughter, bad dad jokes, car concerts, and more for cheaper than a stuffy dinner and a movie you have to just sit and watch. If given the choice…TAKE ME ON A TRAIL!! I really truly believe anyone I know can do this if it’s something they enjoy. Believe me, we are not bringing in loads of cash but when planned right, you don’t need to. If we can have these experiences, anybody can!

In short, hiking has taken over our free time and I couldn’t be happier. I thought these days were gone and now my husband is as obsessed as I am! He is getting AMAZING images in areas of Sedona and the White Mountains that are not the same images taken by EVERY professional photographer that chase the popular IG shots. (We have done a few of those tho, which is why we avoid those areas. Don’t believe those pictures are taken without the photographer deleting out the insane amount of people around! Not fun in our opinion.) For me, I get my nature fix, fresh air and a new appreciation of how well my body supports me to be in the beautiful places we find ourselves. The metaphors for life are so abundant out there that at times I MUST snap a cell pic and open my notes app to jot down thoughts. Its like each step is a journal entry, each trail conjunction physically represents the choices we make in life, each rocky trail leads to something amazing, and the easier trails bring in gratitude. The lands we hike were inhabited by Native Americans and that can be felt in such a deep way. We walk with respect, reverence, and awe that yes, WE LIVE IN ARIZONA!

Many many things happened to get us to the amazing life we currently live. Some were based on other people’s decisions that directly affected us that brought a period of struggle we have grown and leveled up from. Others were us saying YES to opportunities without knowing the outcome and not being prepared, yet things fell right into place due to how aligned the shift we had chosen was. I will always believe that what was meant for you is just waiting for you to see it, and when it is time for you to jump you will see no other options. This has for sure been the last 5 years for us and I simply can’t wait to see what is next. Not just for our lives but for this blog as well!

It seems that in the process of writing this post, I know what can be shared here and what can be done with all the notes I have taken in nature… Keep following for more and I’ll try and actually post!! Deal? Deal!

Blessed Be!
