I would be totally amiss if I did not talk about another way in our healing journey that has a tendency to get in our way, and is much more common than what I discussed in my original post. You know the type, and you may even have been or currently ARE in this group. It’s extremely common and in my opinion is fed by the multiple healers, guides, and coaches that sprung up in huge masses over lockdown. I call them Wounded with Wisdom.
These are the people who have identified their trauma’s, wounds, ancestral scars, and learned low vibe behaviors. They have paid for multiple programs, coaches, books, and virtual meetings. Their YouTube feed is full of all the amazing lectures and Ted Talks and they have bookmarked and saved videos to watch. These people KNOW THEIR SHIT and can send you all the links, direct you to trusted resources, and you may trust them as a valuable source, and you should!! The problem is, they have actually done nothing or they try something for a week and jump to something else, never giving anything a chance to make a difference. Instant gratification and healing is what they expect and want, but that’s not how this works.
These people become addicted to the information and tool given by people they have seen and recognized as legit, but they never actually put in the work to help themselves. Every “famous teacher” I follow and am familiar with, makes it very clear that healing and growing is a long process that must be consistent and you must have buy in. You can’t just take notes in healing and slide through to being transformed. It’s not that easy and it shouldn’t be. If it were simple, the impacts would be surface level at best and real deep wounds would still be there to reopen when least expected.
This is the micro healing that is felt with just going to a sound bath and expecting a life altering change. Ya you feel some feels, may investigate them some, and may even journal about it. Then the next day you wake up and your shit is still there and not dealt with or healed. (Don’t think for a minute I don’t believe in the power of sound healers!! I absolutely do and think they are perfect to accompany the hard work thats needed in the healing journey. I actually recommend them for anyone in active healing!) I include card readers, astrologers (hey thats me!), reiki practitioners, and most metaphysical guides in this mix. Let me be very clear…WE CAN NOT HEAL YOU FOR YOU! YOU MUST DO WORK! There is no “quick fix” no matter how you twist it. If anyone promises that for you, RUN and save your money.
The sad part of these peoples journey is that many just never actually heal. But why? Why would you have all the tools and spend all the money but never actually take the steps towards healing? As an astrologer I immediately look to where Chiron is located in their Natal Chart. Chiron is an astroid known as the Wounded Warrior or Wounded Healer. Depending on placement it is pretty clear who came here to heal wounds and then move to help others do the same, and who came to help others heal what they themselves just can’t bare to dig into. (No I do not relay this as there is ALWAYS free will and you can absolutely push through the tough placements in a Natal Chart) The latter actually becomes addicted to the information that they never actually implement towards their own healing. It feels good to help others when you can’t bare to help yourself.
The Healing Addict is multi faceted and complex. One thing is universal no matter which category one falls under, forward movement is stunted or blocked. True growth won’t happen if your always looking for something to heal as I talked about in my first post. That loop is never ending and you will get dizzy before you even think about trying to take a forward step. The growth level can’t be met without risk and risk is avoided at all cost. If you know all the things but do none of the things, you will be stuck exactly where you are. You may be satisfied with the little boosts you get from holistic healing sessions and the energy others give you when you are able to assist them, but your personal forward movement will be minimal and temporary.
Healthy healing requires digging deep and being willing to see yourself without judgement. It is taking a look at trauma and wounds that you are not responsible for, but will 100% be forgiving regardless if others have remorse. It is taking steps every damn day to chip away at walls that have been built in order to see the light on the outside of the darkness you have been comfortable in. It’s taking a step out and doing scary new things even though your fragile in order to build resilience. Healing and Doing are partners that work in tandem and fear is your sign to jump! Most often those leaps of faith are the most healing thing you can do, because your brain will always tell you your not ready yet.
So here’s the invitation with Part 2 of this subject, or maybe the loving call-out: Don’t just collect wisdom. Become it. Let the things you’ve read, watched, learned, and paid for turn into action—real, raw, imperfect action. Stop waiting to feel fully ready or healed before you begin, because that day may never come. Start messy. Start scared. Start anyway. This journey was never meant to stay inside journals or Zoom calls or spiritual playlists—it’s meant to change your life from the inside out. And that only happens when you do something with it. Because at the end of the day, knowing the path and walking the path are not the same thing.
