Cosmic Storms & Neptune: What’s Up with 2025’s Weird Weather?

I have been contemplating this subject since January but after recent weather events causing so much tragedy, it is time we dive into the wild weather we’re all feeling in 2025 and go through the astrology surrounding it.

Y’all, have you noticed the weather acting “extra” lately? Like, one minute it’s sunny, and the next, it’s like Mother Nature decided to throw a tantrum with storms, floods, or just plain bizarre vibes in the sky. Back in 2024, I shared some insights about 2025 being a year of environmental shake-ups on my FB and IG business pages (Mystikal Rootz), and unfortunately, the astrology was spot on as usual. As an astrologer these are the types of things we hope we see incorrectly but here we are. Neptune’s been on one and is begging for a full write up on it’s chaos. Let’s unpack what’s happening astrologically and why this year’s weather feels like it’s straight out of a sci-fi movie. Grab your charts, and let’s dive in!

Neptune: The Dreamy King of Chaos

Okay, let’s talk about the star of the show, Neptune. This planet has been swimming in its home sign since 2011.  At the end of March it shifted into Aries, but is currently Retrograding back into Pisces where it will hang out thru 2026.   Neptune rules water, oceans, and all things mystical, but it also brings a foggy, unpredictable energy that can make weather feel… well, *weird*. Think floods, hurricanes, or those storms that pop up out of nowhere and leave meteorologists scratching their heads. I’ve been feeling this in my readings, and I bet you have too—those moments where the sky just doesn’t act right.

In October, Neptune will retrograde back to the 29th° of Pisces and we are feeling the shadow of the NOW. The anoretic 29th degree of any sign is like the universe saying, “Let’s wrap this up with a bang!” This critical degree is amplifying all of Neptune’s watery chaos as we approach it. So we’re seeing more intense water-related events like swollen rivers, coastal surges, or even freaky cloud formations that look like they belong in a dream. Neptune in retrograde means this energy is extra introspective and sneaky. It’s like the weather’s hiding its true plans, catching us off guard with sudden downpours or unseasonal shifts. Sound familiar? If you’ve been seeing floods or strange tides in your area, Neptune’s probably whispering, “Told you so.” It is also important to note that this energy is present regardless of what the “cause” is. If cloud seeding is the cause, that doesn’t negate the Neptune vibe. Not all astrological energies are “natural” and most are human related. Weather is no different.

Uranus in Gemini: The Wildcard of the Skies

Now, let’s add **Uranus in Gemini** to the mix, because this planet is serving chaos with a side of lightning bolts. Uranus moved into Gemini on July 7, 2025. After a little back-and-forth with Taurus, and it’s shaking up the air element big time. Uranus rules sudden changes, electricity, and surprises, so in Gemini, it’s bringing wild winds, tornadoes, or those “where did THAT come from?” weather moments. Ever seen a storm roll in faster than you can say “Mercury retrograde”? That’s Uranus.

Here’s the scoop: Uranus is squaring Neptune (peaking August 2025 and lingering), creating an intense tug-of-war between air and water. This could mean volatile storms, unexpected atmospheric shifts, or even tech glitches in weather forecasting (because Uranus loves to mess with tech). So these bizarre weather patterns that don’t make sense—like heatwaves and blue skies one moment and flooding monsoon rains the next—this square is probably why. It’s like the universe is remixing the weather playlist, but we aren’t allowed to skip the shit songs.

Jupiter in Cancer: Here Comes the Flood

Let’s not forget Jupiter in Cancer, which rolled in on June 9, 2025. Jupiter’s the planet of expansion and exaggeration, and in watery Cancer, it’s like, “More rain, more rivers, more EVERYTHING!” This placement is amplifying water-related weather, so if you’re in a coastal area or near a river, you might be seeing some serious surges or heavy rainfall. Jupiter’s also trining Neptune (it was exact in late June but still vibing), which is like pouring astrological gasoline on the watery fire. Translation? Expect bigger storms, swollen waterways, or even flooding in places that aren’t used to it.

Back in December 2024, when I was looking at 2025, I saw this watery energy as a big deal. If told my email subscribers to be ready for some wild weather, and this is it! Jupiter in Cancer is making sure we feel the abundance of water,  and often it will be too much due to Jupiter being so extra. If you’re in a flood-prone area, keep an eye out and maybe stock up on those sandbags, just in case. If you have a tendency to ignore weather alerts STOP THAT!! I can’t be more clear about this as that has led to tragedy in recent floods. I get it, the Weather Service over the years has OVER alerted due to how unpredictable weather has been the last 5-10 yrs. It’s been easy to glance at our phones and think “whatever” and move along. DROP THAT HABIT IMMEDIATELY! If you evacuate or leave and nothing happens, awesome! If you ignore and tragedy strikes, you could be putting yourself and family in a very bad situation. Error on the side of caution.

Saturn in Aries: The Reality Check

One more player to watch: Saturn in Aries, which started on May 26, 2025. Saturn’s all about structure and discipline, but in fiery Aries, it’s clashing with Jupiter in Cancer (especially in August 2025). This square could bring a weird mix of extremes.  Think droughts or heatwaves in some places while others are drowning in rain. (Feeling this vibe now as Arizona is burning and I watch rain clouds burn in New Mexico literally 50ish miles east)  It’s also a heads-up that our infrastructure (like dams or levees) might struggle to keep up with these wild weather swings. Saturn’s saying, “Y’all better prepare,” while Jupiter’s just pouring more water into the mix. Saturn is very governmental as well so we could see some things going on there as well. (Some systems have been screwed FOREVER. This may be the final push for change in how weather is predicted or how help is delivered after a weather event)

Why It Feels So Neptune Lately

It’s because this planet doesn’t just bring physical weather—it’s the *feeling* of it all. Neptune makes everything feel surreal, like we’re living in a dream where the skies don’t follow the rules. Those odd cloud formations, sudden fogs, or storms that feel like they’re carrying a message? That’s Neptune’s magic. It’s like the universe is painting with watercolors, and we’re all just watching the canvas shift.

This also ties to the spiritual side of 2025. Neptune’s retrograding into end of Pisces, wrapping up a 14-year cycle before it stations forward and back into Aries for good in 2026. This is a time of culmination, where the weather might be reflecting bigger cosmic shifts. Maybe it’s a call to pay attention to our surroundings, to listen to the oceans, or to trust our intuition when things feel off. What’s your gut telling you about these changes?

Final Thoughts

2025 is serving up an astrological soup of watery, wild, and unpredictable weather, and it’s all tied to Neptune’s dreamy dance in Pisces, Uranus’s electric shocks in Gemini, and Jupiter’s big watery exaggerations in Cancer. When I worked my 2024 predictions, I felt this coming along with every other astrologer out there. These skies aren’t just weather, they’re messages from the universe, urging us to listen, prepare, and maybe even find a little magic in the chaos.

Good luck out there friends! It is a wild one for sure and it’s only just begun…
