No experience is OK Say YES anyway

There are times we hold ourselves back from dreams we REALLY want to make into reality, all based on the lack of experience WE feel is necessary. What if we said yes anyway?

Recently I have had about a million and one things going through my mind surrounding ideas to move my business Mystikal Rootz forward. Living the full time RV Life has made me totally virtual with my services and as long as I have an internet connection, I’m able to work. That being said, I have toyed with the idea of private group memberships since I began Mystikal Rootz 2 1/2 yrs ago. I benefit so much from paid membership type groups myself, and always want to pay forward the knowledge and experiences I gain on my journey. Time & energy had always been lacking and expectations of some perfectly well oiled group, perfectly streamlined, perfectly set up for payments, with the perfect women who would perfectly fit in the perfectly supported space.

“PERFECT” held me back! Time and energy have largely increased living in the Arizona desert and after some recent input and feelers to gage interest, I said “fuck perfect” and clicked the tab to begin a group! Do I know if anyone will actually join? NOPE! Do I have a professional system to take payments? NOPE! (I vaguely have that figured out here! Lol) Do I have the most amazing fool proof “rules” figured out? I have a good start! Do I have an iron clad way to keep creeps away with questions? Maybe… The fact is, I am done holding myself back from helping others just because I have told myself a lie that I need to be as streamlined as the groups I personally pay to be a member of. It took time and multiple changes for those groups to run the way they do. I know because I have been understanding through those changes, just as those who will sign up for mine will be. Bottom line, I am sick of shrinking and not helping others in my fullest capacity. I am sick of holding myself back from financial gains I am worthy of due to the effort I put in! I am no longer making excuses and instead making plans!!

Am I the only one who does this to themselves? Nope! I have even made gentle nudges to people who I have seen hold themselves back and sat back and watched dreams come true and goals get accomplished. Saying YES to things that we have had sitting on the back burner is scary at first but freeing immediately afterwards. If you’re a list type person, you have had these things just sitting there on that list with no checkmarks next to them signaling “DONE”. This is the perfect time to sit down and make some decisions on actions! Look at the irons you have in the fire or the things that are shelved for now. If you can move on something, why aren’t you? Are there things you thought would be a good idea but now you’re not quite sure it feeds you? Cross them off!! If you don’t still absolutely love it, it’s not soul feeding work, and your heart won’t be in it, why is it even still an option? Evaluation of our goals is imperative to streamline the outcomes we desire. Each goal or dream we have sitting on the sidelines was envisioned for a purpose. If that purpose is no longer valid, let it go. If that dream or goal is desired now more than ever, TAKE ACTION NOW!

What I learned from my recent evaluation was I had sunk into a comparative mindset causing me to freeze on some really great dreams that could help support my husband and I while living this amazing RV Life. I had bought into the false belief that in order to charge for membership to a group that I lead, I better be the expert on all the things ladies could possibly needing guidance with. If my ducks weren’t in a row and everything wasn’t perfect, I would be viewed as someone who wasn’t “put together enough”. Why did I believe this when that is totally different than all the things I preach? Well, I had just been through an ordeal that was designed to break a person. When we come up against such adversity it trickles down into multiple areas of our lives. It is normal that we doubt ourselves in these moments, but it is extremely important we change the narrative in our heads as fast as possible before we start attaching ourselves to the lies, in turn making them our truth.

Now that narrative has hit the road, I am saying YES in the most imperfect way in order to live the dream I have had for years! My knowledge craves to be taught, hence this blog. My sparkle is too bright to snuff out any longer! I am worth the investment from those who seek me out for the guidance they need to grow! I am DONE hiding my worth because I don’t have all my ducks in a row or even in the same pond. I will learn as I go and grow through the glitches!

What can you say yes to? How can you change your narrative? What is sitting on your list of goals that needs ACTION! Will you jump with me? Will you also take imperfect action towards the things that light you up? Can you too flip fear off and replace it with a mindset of growth? Let me know what you can say YES to in the comments!! I want to celebrate you!! Until next time…

If you feel pulled to do so, also consider donating as an exchange of energy for the time I put in to write and share my vulnerability with others. As my husband and I have recently joined the Full Time RV Life we have opportunities to contribute in communities we are in! (Currently in Saint Johns Arizona we have used donation money to help farmers markets by buying local grown food & a smaller mom & pop propane business by getting our fuel from them!)

  1. Hey, my passion is to write. I am looking for jobs that will help me fulfill my passion. But as I am new to this genre,as I have no experience no one is taking me. Getting rejected every day tears me apart.

    • Congratulations on know what your passion is! Many people just struggle to figure that out. As a beginner you have to understand that you will need to prove yourself for potential employers. Good news is, putting in effort and work to prove yourself shouldn’t be hard because it’s your passion!! Write and post a lot and do a Google search on entry level writing jobs. I’m not a job coach but feel free to follow me here and the social media links I have attached to this blog for inspiration and encouragement!
